Wire Spring Avocet Sculpture

Ranie's passion for birds really comes out in this piece. Avocet's unique bill and proportion make elegant lines. She used recycled copper to capture the rusty color of the Avocet's head and neck. The body is constructed with 16 gauge wire. The feet are made out of 22 gauge wire. The bird is mounted on a 1/4 inch plate of steel.

Care Instructions:
These sculptures are all made with metal. Due to the natural qualities of steel and wire, oxidation will occur. The amount of oxidation can vary upon the sculptures placement ie: indoors vs. outdoors and humid rooms vs. dry rooms. To clean and/or remove oxidation or dust, we suggest a wire brush or steel wool, depending on the delicacy of the artwork.
