Butterfly Vase
Recycled Glass Big Sky Butterfly Vase. This incredible blue piece of glass was filled with Vodka in California, before migrating north via various means and landing in Montana. Someone enjoyed its contents and left it for the trash heap, but it has been redeemed to fly again with the free spirited butterflies etched on its sides. Fill it with a bouquet of your local wildflowers or some roses for your sweetheart. 9” Tall x 10” Around. Weighs 1 pound.
Artist: Justin R. Visser
Born and raised a few miles outside Bozeman, Montana, Justin has spent many days outside observing the great outdoors. The natural world has a huge influence on his artwork. Much of the subject matter captured in his work is a reflection of things he has seen in nature. Justin also collects used wine, liquor, and beer bottles which he reuses in his artwork with the hope of helping to preserve our privileged planet. No acids are used in the etching, the images are sandcarved onto the glass surface. Even though Justin can repeat designs, every piece of his work has its own subtle differences due to variances in the glass bottles, as well as, the nature of individual, hand finished production.
Justin received a degree in Art and Art Administration from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington in 1996. He has been married since 1997 and is the proud father of one daughter. In addition to Montana and Washington, he has lived in and enjoyed exploring several corners of the world, including: New Mexico, Idaho, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
