A Trout Pond Game

A unique historic and original cloth board game. Each player starts with a fisherman, 10 trout, and 2 boulders. Taking turns, the players place any one of their pieces on an open space anywhere on the board. Fishermen can move in a straight line in any one direction, any number of spaces, and capture one or more trout by jumping over them and landing on a blank spot. Trout can move in any one direction, one space at a time, trying to get into position to jump over and "eat" their opponent's trout. The boulders act as blockers. They cannot be moved once in place. Fishermen and trout must go around boulders. The player's turn is over once a piece has been placed, moved, or used to jump over an opponent's piece or pieces. The game is over when all of one player's trout are removed from the board. The game pieces are natural polished rocks or glass marbles. The game boards are made up of a cotton blend material. The ink is soy-based. Games contain small pieces; not suitable for children under 5 years.Made in Montana
